Obituary for B.W. Schantz

Bonnie William (B.W.) Schantz was born February 21, 1924 to Fred William and Mary K. Schantz at Rocky, OK.

He went to a little country school called Center for 8 years and then finished his high school at Rocky, OK. At the age of 10 he accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. He lived and farmed after high school near Rocky. At the age of 26 he left the farm and entered the U.S. Army in which he served three years. When he left the service he married Mary Ellen Ward and to this union was born three children: Nancy, Fred and Beverly.

B.W. loved his family and cherished them. B.W. was ordained a deacon at age 32. He taught Sunday School class and finally worked in the nursing home ministry for over 16 years, serving with Ruth and Dean Bacon – two services every Sunday morning. B.W. was preceded in death by his mother and father; three brothers, three sisters, one brother-in-law, three sisters-in-law, and his wife Mary Ellen, who he had been married to for 50 years.
He is survived by his children, Nancy Schantz of the home; Fred Schantz and wife Jeri of Midland, TX; and Beverly Hamilton and husband Arnold of Edmond; four grandchildren, Dann Schantz and wife Ginger of Midland, TX; Andrew Hamilton and wife Ashley of Edmond; Amy Schantz of Dallas, TX; and Matthew Hamilton and wife Jamy of Edmond; five great-grand children, Maddox and Lyndley Hamilton of Edmond, OK; Nolan and Tilly Hamilton of Edmond, OK; and Aaron Schantz of Midland, TX; two brothers, Leo Schantz and wife Charlene of Rocky, OK, and Alvin Schantz and wife Leola of Mustang, OK; he leaves a host of relatives and friends to celebrate his home-going.

Memorials in B.W.'s name may be made to First Baptist Church Nicoma Park's Youth Group or Good Shepherd Hospice.
