Obituary for Charlene Evelyn Dubro

Charlene Dubro was born Charlene Evelyn Mantooth in Box, Oklahoma on August 6, 1927, to Daniel Webster and Mary Frances (Lurry) Mantooth. She went home to be with the Lord on April 8, 2018 at the age of 90.

Charlene was the youngest of five children, two brothers and two sisters – one brother and one sister preceded her in death in infancy.

Charlene and Marvin Paul Dubro were married in Miami, Oklahoma on November 4, 1964, and they remained married until his death on March 8, 2002. They lived in Wichita, Kansas during the first few years of their marriage and then moved to Midwest City in the early 1970’s.

Charlene lived in Midwest City for most of her life. She moved to Grace Living Center in Oklahoma City in 2018 due to declining health. She was a faithful member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Midwest City for many years. She knew Jesus as her Lord and Savior and we know she is in Heaven now with Marvin and their son Mark and all her family. She was a loving wife and mother. She and Marvin were very devoted to the care of their son Mark Paul Dubro, born with cerebral palsy, until his death in 1982. She was often asked to speak to young mothers offering advice on nutrition and special care for their child afflicted with cerebral palsy. She loved working in her flower beds and going to garage sales.

She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Talmage O. Mantooth, Daniel Tesler Mantooth and her sisters, Ruth Yoland Jackson and Emma Norma Mantooth. She is survived by several brother and sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Viewing will be 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Barnes Friederich Funeral Home in Midwest City, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, April 13, 2018 at Barnes Friederich Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Arlington Memory Gardens Cemetery in Midwest City, Oklahoma.

The family wishes to extend a special thank-you to Grace Living Center (Brookwood) and Good Shepherd Hospice for their excellent and loving care given to Charlene and to Mobile Meals in Midwest City for their many years of service.
