Obituary for Denise Ann Moon

Denise Ann Moon, 51, of Midwest City, OK passed away April 22, 2017 in Midwest City.

She was born February 26, 1966 in Oklahoma City, OK to Dennis Eugene Ballenger and Cheryl Lee Morton. Denise graduated from Star Spencer High School in 1984 and was a proud Bobcat.

She spent many years working for Unisys where she had the opportunity to travel and later in life found her calling in her work at Jordan's Crossing helping young women on their journey to sobriety.

She lived her life for her children. They always came first in everything, from the day she brought each of them home. Her love for them was overwhelming and unending as was theirs for her. She taught them compassion, kindness, empathy, patience and above all the importance of family and the power of the love between families. She was the kind of person that was so full of generosity and kindness that she brought light into the lives of everyone she met even if she didn't always know it.

She loved animals of all kinds and had numerous pets she loved dearly including: Bubba, Emma Lou, and Stinky. She loved to sing and dance and didn't care one bit who saw her do it. She was a fantastic cook and loved to make homemade meals for family and friends, baking cakes for everyone's birthdays was a fun way for her to try out new elaborate cheesecake recipes. She enjoyed sewing and making a multitude of crafts, making recital costumes for her daughter as well as most of the other little girls in dance class and Halloween costumes for both of her kids, the most memorable of which being the power ranger costumes they just had to have, and they got them. She lovingly sewed complex Christmas stockings for each of her kids including their spouses because as she always said those were her kids too and they had to have a stocking at mom’s house. She liked driving her corvette fast while she blasted classic rock on the radio. Going fishing was a favorite hobby of hers and she was naturally great at it, she would pick a spot that everyone said was no good and reel in fish after fish; out fishing everyone else every single time. She thoroughly enjoyed riding on the back of motorcycles any chance she got and went on many poker runs and other charity events the motorcycle club took part in. She loved her grandbabies fiercely and it made her happy to take them on "nana dates" whether that is to monster truck shows, out for pizza, to the movies, or her favorite just putting on rain boots and going out to jump in puddles with them. She loved to travel and be in nature and had gone on a couple of cruises to see the world with people she loved dearly, seeing the beautiful sights in Belize, Rotan, and Cozumel with her daughter, son in law, and father and again on a girls only trip with her sister. Plants, flowers and hummingbirds filled her yard and brought her joy. She felt most comfortable walking through her yard barefoot with her dogs admiring her gardens and enjoying a cup of coffee in her gazebo surrounded by the roses she lovingly tended. She loved peace signs and was truly the embodiment of peace and love.

Denise is survived by her children; daughter, Amanda Nicole Sawtelle and son-in-law Eric Travis Sawtelle of Newalla; Son, Kade Ryan Fogarty and daughter-in-law Jessica Lynn Fogarty of Midwest City and step-son Theodore William Klimczynski and daughter-in-law Cassandra Lynn Klimczynski of Midwest City; her mother, Cheryl Lee Morton and step-father Richard Dean Morton of Oklahoma City; her father, Dennis Ballenger of Pauls Valley; sisters, Michelle Lee Rosburg Ballenger of Del City and Niki Lynn Moon of Midwest City; nephews, Derrick Taylor Rosburg of Del City and JJ Williams of Midwest City; niece, Heather Lynn Rosburg of Del City; two grandchildren, Connor Michael Klimczynski and Haelynn Renay Klimczynski; honorary family members "Weird" of Spencer and Michael Williams and Jeannie Williams of Midwest City and countless friends and loved ones.
