She lived for two weeks on her parent’s farm. Her dad got his call to the ministry so they moved to Taloga, OK to the Episcopal Methodist Church. She lived in Taloga for two years, four years in Capron, OK, Helena for six years, then Pond Creek for four years. At the age of 16 years old, she moved to Temple, OK where she lived for four years and graduated from Temple High School in 1942.

Western, Shawnee, Norman and Enid. Ruth retired from Sears in 1986 with over 30 years of service.

She met her husband W.L. (Mac) McLennan at a softball game in OKC and they were married August 31, 1946. They had 6 children, two of which died at birth, W.L. Jr. and Kathy Sue. She raised the other 4 children, Linda, Benny, Wes and Karen by herself after the untimely death of her husband in 1962. Her son, Benny, was killed in 1984.

Ruth and Mac took their children to the Douglas Blvd. United Methodist Church under Rev. E.L. Powell. They attended church at Soldier Creek School until their church was built. They even had their own pew – last row of seats on the left. She taught Sunday School and sang in the choir for many years.
