Obituary for Homer "Frank" Allen

Homer “Frank” Allen, 83, of Spencer, OK passed from this life on May 2, 2018. He was born in Blanchard, OK on May 24, 1934 to parents Omer and Phyllis Allen.

Frank graduated as a salutatorian from Jones High School, where he grew up playing sports and was proud to have raised a Grand Champion hog as a member of the FFA. He went on to marry his high school sweetheart, Mae, and began to raise a family.

Frank was a hardworking man who enjoyed farming, officiating in multiple basketball leagues, and further provided many years of service through Oklahoma Gas and Electric and the City of Oklahoma City. He has been awarded for providing over 30 years of safety by OG&E; inducted into the Oklahoma Official Hall of Fame for outstanding service in sports officiating; and recognized by Star Spencer High School FFA for 69 years of agricultural excellence. He loved watching his children and grandchildren participate in sports and even served as “Coach” to his son, nephews and granddaughters.

Frank was preceded in death by his father, Omer Allen and mother, Phyllis Harper-Deck. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mae Allen; daughter, Donnetta and husband John Oisten; son, Steve and wife Tammy Allen; grandchildren, John and wife Janet Oisten, Janice and husband David Thiemann, Taylor and husband Michael Croslin, and Courtney and husband Jake Markes; five great-grandchildren, Duncan, Jill, John Charles, Isebelle, and Julie; sisters, Loretta Finchum and Gloria Schick; and brother, Ronnie Allen. He was loved by many and will be missed by a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday and Sunday, May 5th and 6th from 11AM – 8PM. The celebration of Frank's life will be held at 2PM on Monday, May 7, 2018 at Barnes Friederich Funeral Home Chapel with graveside service to follow at Kolb Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, family and friends may in turn make a donation to the National Kidney Foundation.
