Obituary for Johnny Lee Holland

Johnny Lee Holland, 74, of Midwest City, died October 10, 2017 at his residence surrounded by family. Johnny was born on March 16, 1943 to Virgil “Jack” and Maxine Holland in Pampa, Texas.

He grew up and attended school in Stroud, Oklahoma then spent 4 years in the U.S. Navy before joining the Oklahoma highway patrol as a state trooper. Johnny married Kathy Mobly on June 28, 1981. He retired from the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety in 1989, where he served as a Lieutenant Highway Patrol Trooper for 20 years. He then continued to work as a Sr. Driver’s License Examiner for 10 years before retiring in 1999. Johnny enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Maxine and Virgil “Jack” Holland; sister, Jackie Grisham; and granddaughter, Leslie Beachler.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Kathy; sisters, Darlene Gann, Novalene Tuttle and husband, Dennis, Sue Wilborn and husband Larry; daughters, Ginger Allen and husband Mike, Lori Whitesel and husband Eric; stepsons, Karl Beachler and Fiance Pam Blackwell, Kenny Beachler; grandchildren, Erin Cline White, Paige Cline Carver, Brittany and Eric Whitesel, Dakota Beachler, Hilary and Hunter Spears, and Lindsey Beachler; 4 great grandchildren, Brewer and Beau White, Sawyer Shipman and Emmeline Carver.

Viewing will be Thursday from noon-8pm and Friday from 8am-8pm with family present between 5pm-8pm. Funeral services will be 10:00AM on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Barnes Friederich Funeral Home Chapel with interment following at Arlington Memory Gardens.
