Obituary for Marion "Shorty" C. Routt

Marion C. Routt “Shorty”, 95, passed away November 22, 2017. He was born September 26, 1922 and was a man of many talents.

He served in the Army during World War II. He married Ella Lee Mooney in 1946, they had 4 children. As a young man, he loved to ride horses in rodeo parades, quilting, repairing and rebuilding cars, spending weekends running a booth at Mary’s Flea Market, hunting, fishing, just being in the timber and all around tinkerer.

Over the years, he owned and operated cafes, beer joints and Shorty’s Auto Body Shop.

Marion is survived by his daughters, Linda Campbell and husband Chuck of Midwest City, OK, Tressie Center of Moore, OK; son, Robert Routt and wife Marcia of Yukon, OK; sister, Maxine Johnson of Poteau, OK; 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and relatives.

He was preceded in death by son, Calvin Routt and 19 brothers and sisters.

Viewing will be 8AM-8PM Saturday and Sunday at Barnes Friederich Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 1PM, Monday, November 27, 2017 at Barnes Friederich Funeral Home Chapel with interment following at Arlington Memory Gardens.
