Obituary for Maxine Tribble

Maxine Tribble received her heavenly crown on April 8, 2017, after 85 years of earthly toil. She was born in Little Rock, AR to Fred and Coga Black Hogan. She graduated from Little Rock High School in 1949, became an Air Force wife when she married Jimmie D. Tribble in December 1950, and a mother to four children born in four different cities across the U.S., but ultimately called Midwest City “home.” She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Mary Lou Arwood; and her husband of over 54 years. She is survived by her children Lawrence Tribble, Russell Tribble, Cheryl L. Winters, Jimmie H. Tribble, sister-in-law Johnnie K. Shepard, brother-in-law H.C. Tribble, their spouses, 10 grandchildren and their spouses, 12 great-grandchildren, and a large extended family and a VAST amount of friends that she considered family! Maxine loved saving news clippings related to self-help and the study of human behavior, collectively known by her children as the “articles of war.” Maxine attended Rose State College, co-owned Mid-Del Realty, and was later a unit clerk at Midwest City Hospital. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Midwest City and often hosted pool parties for an inestimable number of the Youth Group. She loved shopping at Dillard’s and dining out at Pelican’s, Don’s Alley, Bandana Red's, and Catfish Cabin and would invite anyone and everyone to join her, and she always insisted on paying for everyone in the party. “The more, the merrier” and “let the good times roll” were favorite phrases of hers. A memorial service is being held at the First Baptist Church in Midwest City on Monday, April 17, 2017, at 2:00 P.M. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the church’s building fund.
