Obituary for Ovana Sue Stephens

Ovana Sue Stephens was born in Allen, OK to General Burnett and Nora Emma Davis on August 14, 1942. She passed from this life on October 18, 2017. Sue graduated from Midwest City High School in May 1960 and then ran away to marry the love of her life, Jim, on September 10, 1960 in De Queen, Arkansas. Together they built a wonderful life. Family, and her role as Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Aunt, was the most important thing to Sue. This is where she drew her strength and has left her legacy. She was the glue of the family whose servant heart was an example to us all and blessed the lives of all those around her. Caring for her family remained her focus despite struggling with illness for many years. During her healthy years, Sue was active at Ridgecrest Church of Christ serving in the church nursery as well as performing the many duties of a Youth Minister’s Wife. She was loved by many and leaves a huge hole in our hearts. Sue is preceded in death by her parents, five siblings and also her beloved grandson, Brandon Keith Stephens. She is survived by her husband Jimmy Allen Stephens Sr.; sons, Jimmy Stephens and wife Julia, Michael Stephens and wife Amy; daughter, Melody Peacock and husband Millard; grandsons, Lance Stephens, Christopher Stephens, Sean Stephens and Matthew Peacock; granddaughters, April Fish, Misty Durham, Auralie Holman, and Megan Peacock; great granddaughter, Serenity Holman; great grandsons, Cooper Stephens, Cameron Durham, Brayden Stephens, Tyson Durham, Asher Fish, Lincoln Durham, Kennedy Durham and Paxton Fish; siblings, Oleta Aldridge, Oretha Trotter, Oral Ray Davis and Ozell Edward Davis. Services will be held at Barnes Friederich Funeral Home in Midwest City, OK on Tuesday, October 24, 2017, at 12:30 p.m.
