Obituary for Rev. Thomas Vance Bauer

It is with great sadness that the family of Thomas Vance Bauer, announce his passing at home on August 18th, 2018 at 1:38pm. After a courageous six year battle with Parkinson’s disease, he joined his Heavenly Father for a blessed homecoming.

Tom was an Assembly of God minister and pastored several churches in and around Ada and Oklahoma City over the years. He was a lover of the Bible and enjoyed singing gospel music.
He was gentle and kind, an avid reader, lover of science fiction, and was always up for a game of Chess.

He was born on October 5th, 1941 in Oklahoma City, to Vinzenz and Fadama “Snookie” Bauer. He was a proud south Oklahoma City resident, and after his 1960 Graduation from Capitol Hill High School he served in the United States Air Force. He met and married the love of his life, Ernestine “Marie” Smith in 1964 and shared 54 wonderful years of marriage and friendship. Together, they were blessed with three children.

Tom is survived by wife, Marie, daughter, Christina Humphrey and her husband Robert; Son,
Corey Bauer and his wife Jolyn; daughter, Aimee Ahpeatone; 9 grandchildren; 5 great
grandchildren; two sisters, Teena Malm & Linda Sue Jobe and numerous nieces, nephews & cousins.

Viewing will be Tuesday & Wednesday, August 21st-22nd, 2018 at Barnes Friederich Funeral
Home, 1820 South Douglas Boulevard, Midwest City. His life will be celebrated on Thursday,
August 23rd, 2018, at 10:00 AM at Friendship Pentecostal Holiness Church, 11301 S.E. 104th
Street, Oklahoma City with interment to follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery in Del City.
