Jim joined the United States Air Force following high school and served in Korea during the Vietnam War. Later he served as a Military Police Officer at Tinker Air Force Base. He was honorably discharged and served in the reserves and later had a civilian career where he began his life work as a machinist, at Tinker. He later worked as a machinist at Norton Christensen Downhole Tools and Ouachita Machine and Tool. He retired in 2014 from Ouachita Machine and Tool, after working there for 28 years.
Jim’s life was full of phases where he enjoyed music, photography, gardening, motorcycles, raising small animals, especially rabbits, turkeys and chickens, and finally building beautiful guitars. He was a private person and hard to know, but those who did, knew an intelligent, thoughtful man who knew exactly what he wanted, with little indecisiveness. He was loved by those who knew him and he will be missed.
