Obituary for L D Taylor

L.D. “Chigger” Taylor, 89 of Moore, Oklahoma died January 2, 2019 of congestive heart failure. He was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Roy and Edith Taylor on February 27, 1929. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother LeRoy, daughter Pinky Hooley, and the love of his life – his wife Goldie. They were married 65 years, 1 month, and 4 days. He is survived by his daughter Betty and husband Jim Duncan, son Curtis Hooley, grandchildren Diane and husband Alan Jech, Lisa and husband Ken Sumpter, Steve Davis and wife Dana, Kerry Hooley and wife Amy, and Kandy Hooley. He has 14 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren and one on the way, and Casanova his cat.
He spent his early years racing cars at the stock car races in Norman. He worked in construction, framing houses. “He believed he could fly”…and he did. He loved his family! He was the one that as soon as you brought a newborn home from the hospital he took the baby and walked it around the house. He loved going on trips to Vegas with is family. He also enjoyed visiting the local casinos and playing the lottery weekly. If you ever asked him how he was feeling, his response was “With my fingers”. He always told us “I love you more”.
We want to say to him... “We love you more, because we are bigger” and “Don’t do anything we wouldn’t do”!
