Obituary for Rebecca Lou Gibson

Rebecca Lou Gibson, 71, was called home to be with her beloved Lord and Savior on April 18, 2019. She was born December 27, 1947, to William Byron and Loretta Jane Donnell in Oklahoma City, OK. Rebecca studied at Rose State College where she received numerous honors for her service in the school's Senate. In 1977, she married Gilbert Lee Gibson of Del City, OK. Together they built a quiet, content life in Nicoma Park, OK. Rebecca was a devout Christian, unwavering in her studies and belief in God's Word. She had a beautifully compassionate heart, spent years fostering children, and gave a home to numerous older rescue dogs. Survivors include her husband Gilbert Gibson of Nicoma Park, OK, sister Diana Jane and husband Allen Watson of Pueblo, CO, sister Annette Kay Donnell of Chicago, IL, step-son and wife Jeff and Kassi Gibson, step-grandchildren Riley and Chloe, and four nieces: Cinnament Carey, Amanda Hall, Bethany Alexander, and Danielle Van Buren. A luncheon will be served at Noon on Monday, April 22, 2019, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM. The location is Ascension Lutheran Church, 3617 SE 29th St, Del City, OK. In keeping with Rebecca's loving and generous spirit, it was her decision to donate life so others could live. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Rebecca's name to PETA at 757-213-8750 or Rebecca Lou is dearly loved by all who knew her.
